I've provided guidance to numerous aspiring and junior developers over the course of my career. However, one particularly memorable experience was when I served as a mentor for developers enrolled in the DevCareers program.
During this time, I had the opportunity to mentor approximately eight budding developers. The following is a brief overview and timeline detailing their journey from initiation to success, with progress tracked diligently to ensure their achievements.
You want to know where they are now? They are working in amazing companies !
Reflecting on my experiences as both a manager and mentor, I've come to understand the immense responsibility that comes with these roles. It's not just about fostering the success of individuals but also contributing to the success of the entire project or organization.
Upon introspection, I've realized that I began mentoring these eight aspiring developers even before attaining the title of senior engineer. What enabled me to do so effectively was my unwavering commitment to the process. Therefore, I strongly advocate for mentors to fully commit from the outset.
I intend to delve deeper into this topic in an upcoming article on my tech blog, where I will elaborate on the importance of commitment in mentorship.😀
